Welcome :)

My greatest hope as your friend in Yoga is to guide you into a lifelong practice that unlocks your intuition and awakens your spirit.

Through the teachings of Forrest Yoga, Alignment Based Vinyasa, Rocket Yoga, and Raja Yoga, I’ve found what feels like a whole and complete spectrum of ethical and sustainable living for the modern-day human being. It is with great honor that I dedicate my life to sharing these teachings to reinvigorate the medicine of ceremony and ignite the power of breath to connect with the body and enliven our Spirit.

As we share in the magic of these teachings, may we all reconnect to our inner warrior, nurture our relationship with our ancestors, and cultivate respect and honor for the land that nourishes us, so we may care for her in a way that supports our communities of today and the generations of tomorrow.

May you all be happy and free,

  • The Forrest Yoga method is rooted in its 4 pillars:
    Breath, Integrity, Strength, and Spirit.

Through the practice of Ceremony, Meditation, Breathwork, and Yoga postures, Forrest Yoga is designed to strengthen your mind-to-body connection in an attempt to nurture the Spirit and heal the collective.

The most memorable aspect of this Yoga style is its unique Core exercises, and the long holds in postures. By connecting breath to these intentional movements, students can expect to gain physical strength in an accessible and healing way.

FORREST YOGA

  • The Rocket 🚀 is a fun and energetic Asana practice that evolved from the traditional style of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

Named by the members of The Grateful Dead for it’s ability to “get you there faster,” The Rocket works to help students gain the strength and flexibility to progress towards more advanced variations of postures like Arm Balances, Inversions, Splits, Backbends and more!

In a series of 3 set sequences, students are given an Adaptive Yoga practice that can be customized and repeated. Within the sequence, there are frequent opportunities to weave in arm balances and inversions at the student’s discretion.

Although this practice has a set sequence, creativity is highly encouraged, and you’ll find that no two Rocket Yoga classes are ever the same!

ROCKET YOGA

  • More commonly referred to as “Flow,” Vinyasa is an energetic style of Yoga where postures are connected by their common points of contact. In this movement-based practice, there is a fluidity to the sequence that allows the practitioner to find a harmonious balance between breath and movement. The Sanskrit word Vinyasa translates as ‘to place with intention.’

Alignment-based Vinyasa takes into account the individual practitioner and puts focus on cueing the functional and anatomical aspects of the postures so each student can access the appropriate modifications for their needs.

Students can expect to learn about safe and sustainable alignment to support injuries and personal needs, and develop a deeper understanding of the purpose behind the poses.

  • In Vinyasa classes, teachers have the creative freedom to move outside of the traditional Yoga postures and incorporate other forms of knowledge they may have gathered such as Pilates, physical therapy, or strength training methods like calisthenics.

This means that every Vinyasa or Flow class you attend will be unique to the skillset of the teacher leading the class.

Common variations of Vinyasa include Slow Flow and Power Yoga.

VINYASA FLOW

You are without a doubt my favorite Yoga teacher I’ve ever had.

Yoga can be a bit intimidating, no matter where you are in your personal journey, but you managed to always make me feel welcomed and comfortable.

Each class was intentional and I always left class bringing that mentality out into the ‘real world.’
